Next challenge!

So, here we go again! Soon I will feel the altitude cracking into me again, loss of breath, sickness.. and the burning in your muscles when you have pushed yourself a lot further than you would ever do.
I just love it. Its something I just love about walking uphill, standing on the top of the world and realize what kind of a part me and you play in this game called life. It is quite faschinating.
As I have this hate/love relationship to high mountains, I have signed up for the next challenge - Mount Everest Base Camp. 5300 meter, a little bit less than Kilimanjaro (thank God!).
I have also agreed to be a team leader for the group, which makes this trip a lot more exciting - so now I am actually boiling over from excitement!! Wooohoo!!
September is the month me and Team J (no official name yet) will head to Nepal to start our journey. As we are doing this trek for the fantastic and incredible charity Childreach International, we will start by paying a visit to their projects and get to work!
I am not sure what this would include, but from what I hear - anything from building, painting, playing...!! I think that is fantastic!

Recruitment
Currently I am trying to get my team together, its not only leading, I need to recruit my 10 team members as well which doesnt seemt that hard as most of us are up for a challenge - we just need to understand that nothing is impossible!

Fundraising
You might think that most of the work is training hard and preparing yourself for the trek, but there is more - each one of us have to raise £2,450 before they let us go, and that demands some creativity.

Jan 29 2018 Saturday Village picnic My new Saturday habit is to go to the Farmers Market at Le Sherpa, north of the city. To indulge in all this fresh vegetables and exciting food (read: Momo's) is just a perfect start of the weekend. This Saturday just gone, my dear friend Nima met up with me at the market which was really nice. I was glad that he had the time for me as he is nowadays the Hon. Member of Province Parliament , or Mr Congress Man as I call him. I think that is pretty cool, he is the only person I know in a parliament, and I am sure he will do a lot of good for his province. This particular Saturday, he wanted to go to a village in his province for a picnic, he told me to come along. Last time Nima told me to come along was in 2016. I ended up in a jeep with my sleeping bag and 5h later on disco roads as they are called, I was in his village Sermathang up in the mountains in Helambu region. I am so happily surprised by the generousity of people around me! Thank you so much for supporting Childreach and their work in Tanzania! My knee is feeling a lot better even if it looks horrible still... blue all around, but easier to walk on, def. Cant wait for it to be ok to run on again, this is doing my head in. So much energy and nowhere to spend it! :) Went to see Chelsea-Swansea on Saturday, had a great time at the stadium! Was invited by the friends and I must say it was a great game and event. And Chelsea won after playing really well, so that was very good. I was told that the players have lots of groupies waiting for them outside, travelling from all sorts of places to meet their idols.. lots of girls hanging around the stadium to get a little glimpse.. I guess I just never thought it would be like that with footballers, but then again, Beckham and Cole do have famous girlfriends too.. Anyway, another week to hit and I am sure I will be back on my training soon again!

The mountains are calling me again!

Everest national park.. It is time again - I am off to Nepal in 5 days to trek through the lovely mountains of Annapurna, western Himalayas. It has now been 2,5 years since I left Nepal after a month packed of many experiences I will never forget. Many memories being from the amazing trek to Everest Base Camp, scenery from a dream and hard like a nightmare to the mind and body. But, somehow, wonderful and amazing at the same time. Amazing views.. Other fab memories are from meeting people, lovely Nepali people. I usually say that the Nepali people are made of pure goodness, that is how it feels. Honesty, love, humbleness.. All these things in one go. One special person is of course my "little brother- Sano Bhai" Padam. He walked with me during the Everest BC trek to ensure I wasn't going to get too sick in my altitude sickness bubble of constant pounding headaches and heavy legs along with strong nausea..
