So, I have now got teams for my tournament, and Im really excited about this! Lots of planning comes in now, and that is all fun!

Acclimatisation day in Dingboche - and a head full of buffaloes!

Today we had a late start, meaning wake up call at 7am and breakfast at 7.30. Today we were going on a hike to acclimatise. This wasn't the easiest of them all, we went straight uphill for 2,5h! Lack of oxygen, heavy legs and buffaloes having a party in my head - no, it wasn't that pleasant.. It was so hard.. This is the first day I feel it really strongly, I had to focus on everything else than what I was doing but it's quite hard when I'm only capable of taking one step per breath.. Any bigger rock was just a mission. I so remember this from Kilimanjaro but that was on summit night..  We made it to 5000m but then the mist came and it got really cold so we went back down again. But we did it! The rest of the day we managed to find an Internet cafe and we also took a little nap. This hike this morning was hard.. Dingbouce is a small village up on 4410m and the people here are proper farmers. Everywhere we see people work on their fields with what ever vegetables or such...

Usually my life nowadays is pretty worry-free and happy go lucky (especially on dog walks). But no one missed the devastating plane crash in Kathmandu this week. We pray and feel for the people who are grieving for their loved ones who are no longer here. I for sure have been using the last days to think about what is important and how blessed we are to live, and how that can change due to any circumstance - may it be human error, technical problem, natural causes.. the result is still the same no matter who or what we blame. Namaste Kathmandu!

Dust and pollution.. and absolutely fabulous.. How this adds up is foreign to me too, but it does. Ask anyone of us Nepal lovers, and we will all say the same thing. This place is magic. I felt like a queen being picked up by Nima, who runs Charity Expeditions and his son Tshering JR at the airport after my brief stop in New Delhi. I was rather tired but that somehow washed off like it does when you are in a place you have longed to be at for a long time. After a little drive, the boys dropped me off at Hotel Tibet International in Boudha area, and I checked into a nice room which was going to be my home for a while. Little did I know that I would be checking in three times to the same room, but that would just make it feel a little bit more like home., After washing off my travel dust, Nima and Tshering came back and we met up with my dear sano bhai (little brother) Padam who had flown in from Lukla to trek with me a bit later in the week.
